Use the steps below to resolve popup or sandbox errors in Adobe Acrobat by disabling AppContainer and enabling compatibility mode.
1. Disable “Run in AppContainer”
Open Adobe Acrobat
Access Preferences
Click your profile picture (top-right) → Preferences
If no profile icon: go to Edit → Preferences
Find Security (Enhanced)
In the left pane, select Security (Enhanced)
Turn Off AppContainer
Uncheck Run in AppContainer
Save & Restart
Click OK
Close and reopen Adobe Acrobat
2. Enable Windows Compatibility Mode
Locate Adobe Acrobat
Open the Start Menu, search for Adobe Acrobat
Right-click the result → Open file location
Open Properties
In the folder that appears, right-click the Adobe Acrobat shortcut or executable → Properties
Set Compatibility
Go to the Compatibility tab
Check Run this program in compatibility mode for:
Select Windows 8 from the dropdown
Save & Restart
Click OK
Close and reopen Adobe Acrobat
